The long running Classic Albums documentary series will tackle the best album the series has tackled so far (as far as I'm concerned) when an episode devoted to The Who Sell Out premiers on April 22nd. That's the date the long-awaited box set dedicated to The Who's hilarious and beautiful 1967 pirate radio-tribute will also debut.
The episode will live stream at 6PM Pacific Time/9PM Eastern Standard Time at nugs.net/thewho. After that initial stream it will be available to watch on nugs.net's YouTube channel until the following Sunday (April 25) here.
Pete Townshend (who has generally been ambivalent about his best work) and Roger Daltrey are among the interviewees, but there will also be archival clips of John Entwistle and Keith Moon. Bob Smeaton-- who directed Classic Albums episodes on such classic albums as Who's Next, The Band, Nevermind, and Transformer, as well as the essential rock docs The Jam: About the Young Idea and The Beatles Anthology--directs.
