366 Days at the Drive-In: Day 249

The Date: June 5

The Movie: King Creole (1958)

What Is It?: The dude who directed Casablanca and the one who got censored on American TV for moving his hips unite to make one of the best Elvis movies. Presley plays a brooding teen who hooks up with Morticia Addams. Do you really need to know anything more than that?

Why Today?: On this day in 1956, the censors at “The Milton Berle Show” decide Elvis’s hips are just too much for America’s tender TV audience.
