Screening of Hammer's Restored 'Dracula' with Lost Footage Coming to London

London Hammer Horror fanatics, open a vein and mark Saturday, February 18, on your calendars. To celebrate its new wave of restorations, Hammer will be presenting the world premier of the restored version of the studio's definitive film. According to the official press release, Terence Fisher's Dracula will include"Recently-discovered footage that was originally cut from the British version has been restored by Molinare to the BFI’s wonderful 2007 restoration courtesy of The National Film Center at The Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo. The Japanese footage features an extended and particularly gruesome death scene for Dracula, as well as a moment considered too erotic by the censors of the day."
Dracula is just one Hammer classic screening at the Vault Festival at London's Old Vic Tunnels, which gets underway tonight with a sold-out screening of the new Woman in Black. Check out the full schedule and purchase tickets here.
