From Hannibal to Hitch?
When news is slow, rumors suffice. So here's a rumor to keep you busy until Psychobabble has some genuine occurrences to report: apparently, Anthony Hopkins (do I really have to call him "Sir"? What am I? Merlin?) might be playing Alfred Hitchcock in the upcoming biopic based on Stephen Rebello's 1999 book, Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho, while Helen Mirren has been offered the role of Hitch's wife, Alma. Mirren was also attached the project when it was to be directed by Ryan Murphy, the guy who created "Glee". Dreams that Hitch and Tony Perkins might break out into a rousing rendition of "Wheel in the Sky" were dashed when the project passed from Murphy to Sacha Gervasi, director of the 2008 documentary Anvil! The Story of Anvil.
