Yowza! Rhino's "Original Album Series"

All hail Rhino Records, the finest reissuer of classic records! The label's latest stroke is a budget series of five-disc box-sets covering some very Psychobabble-friendly artists, including The Byrds, The Monkees, The Pretenders, Otis Redding, Patti Smith, Jefferson Airplane, Wilson Pickett, and The Cars (I just ordered the set devoted to The Young Rascals).

The sets are going for between $30 and $35 at Amazon.com, but today they're on sale at Amazon.com.uk for an average price of £11.99 (with shipping that's about $21). That's a pretty fab deal considering that most of these sets contain pretty much everything you'd ever want by the featured artists (The Byrds sets only really needs to be supplemented with Sweetheart of the Rodeo; The Monkees' set is missing Head; anyone with a passing interest in Jefferson Airplane must have Volunteers, which is absent). All bonus tracks from the individual releases are included, too. Gear!
